Hertog Scholars Program at Macaulay College
| 2012
The modern humanistic ideal of a well–rounded citizen of our nation and our world emphasizes a broad overview of culture, politics and society.
The Hertog Scholars Program is a critical review of political philosophy, comparative literature, political economy, and American history, government, and culture—explored through close readings and discussion of enduring texts.
Hertog scholars take 6 required multidisciplinary courses over 4 semesters, discussing and debating classic texts in small groups with other Macaulay students.
The program offers extensive instruction in essay writing and critical thinking to help you hone your arguments and your writing. These foundational analytical skills will serve you through your academic and professional career.
In addition to academic support and mentoring, students accepted into the program receive all reading material and free lunch on days class is held.
