Andrew May is the Associate Director of the Office of Net Assessment, Office of the Secretary of Defense. In this role he is primarily responsible for direction and oversight of ONA’s research program, as well as the design and conduct of net assessments. His principal areas of focus include the nature and scope of future net assessments, the character of the future security environment, and the development of defense strategies for the long-term competition. As an analyst, he focuses on the military competition in space and in the future of nuclear weapons. Before joining the government, Dr. May worked as a Senior Analyst at Science Applications International Corporation. Dr. May received his Ph.D., in History, from Emory University in 1998.
