Secretary Mike Pompeo served as the 70th United States Secretary of State under President Donald Trump, from 2018 to 2021, following his role as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. Sec. Pompeo is a former U.S. Army officer and represented Kansas’s 4th district in Congress from 2011 to 2017. He served on the House Intelligence Committee, as well as the Energy and Commerce Committee and House Select Benghazi Committee.
Prior to his congressional service, Sec. Pompeo founded Thayer Aerospace and later became President of Sentry International. He graduated first in his class at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1986 and served as a cavalry officer patrolling the Iron Curtain before the fall of the Berlin Wall.
