Jacqueline Pfeffer Merrill is the Director of the Campus Free Expression Project at the Bipartisan Policy Center, where she works directly with senior college leaders to support a campus culture open to robust intellectual exchange. Prior to joining BPC, Merrill was the Executive Director of the Fund for Academic Renewal – a program of the American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA) where she previously served as Vice President of Development. Merrill has served on the faculties of St. John’s College, Annapolis, College of William & Mary, and Duke University, among others. She is a trustee of the American Academy for Liberal Education and Students for Free Expression and serves on the Advisory Board of the Stephen S. Smith Center at Xavier University. Merrill’s work has been published in venues including Chronicle for Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, and Perspectives on Political Science.
