Greg Weiner, author of American Burke: The Uncommon Liberalism of Daniel Patrick Moynihan, discusses the life and legacy of this extraordinary statesman. Daniel Patrick Moynihan—Cabinet officer, diplomat and four-term United States Senator—was one of the foremost public servants and public intellectuals of the second half of the twentieth century. A prolific writer, Moynihan authored several books and many more articles for leading journals. Dr. Weiner discusses the principles that informed Moynihan’s public service and the lessons we can learn from him today.
